About one in four moves we run involves at least one night of storage. Here's how to pick the right type, and what to budget per week for a typical 3-bed's worth of furniture.

Option 1 — Self storage

Best for long stretches (4+ weeks) and when you need access. You load and unload yourself, or pay for assisted handling.

Option 2 — Container storage

Cheaper per week than self-storage for the same volume. Your goods are sealed in a single container at our facility — no access until release.

Option 3 — In-van overnight storage

For chain-completion gaps of 1–3 days. Your loaded van stays secure overnight and unloads the next day. Often the cheapest option for short gaps.

Cost guide for a 3-bed

Self-storage: £35–£55 per week. Container: £18–£28 per week. In-van overnight: £85–£140 per night flat.

Insurance and access

Confirm cover for valuables and check whether climate control matters for your contents (it does for art, vinyl, leather and some electronics).
