Before the move
- Update microchip address two weeks before move day
- Pack a pet survival kit (food, bowls, bed, toy, lead)
- Book a friend or kennel for move day if possible
Move day
- Keep pets in one closed room with food/water
- Move pets last, in their carrier, in your car
- Don't feed cats heavily before transport
New house
- Set up one "safe room" before letting pets explore
- Keep cats indoors for 2–3 weeks
- Walk dogs on lead for the first few outings
